Last night's power outage in the Church Hill section of Richmond was caused by a shooting. Kareem Shaquille Brown of Tighe Court in Richmond was shot and killed while driving his car, according to police, by one of the two passengers in the car. At about 12:50am, the vehicle veered out of control and struck two utility polls on Broad Street in Shockoe Bottom. The lines along Broad evidently being necessary for electrical service to Church Hill, power went out in that neighborhood at that time.
